NESC Sustainable Futures Workshops Report 2026

The workshops formed part of NESC’s wider project on climate action and sustainable futures. Using creative and participatory methods, they invited participants to imagine a positive, sustainable future for Ireland and consider the practical steps needed to achieve it. Common priorities included greater local decision-making; food systems that strengthen community and land connection; stronger intergenerational relationships; and lower levels of consumption. The insights generated through the workshops will inform the Council’s future research and policy recommendations.
