Dr. Valentin-Veron Toma is a senior researcher and head of the Department of Cultural and Social Anthropology at the Institute of Anthropology "Francisc I. Rainer" of the Romanian Academy. In the past five years, Dr. Toma has been involved in organizing the first Romanian Academy conference on climate change, participated in the Presidential Administration's Working Group on climate change, and contributed to several official Romanian documents on the topic. Recently, as part of the Consultative Council for Sustainable Development within the Romanian government, Dr. Toma established a working group on health and climate change, which he will adapt for his work at the EEAC Network. Dr. Toma recently represented Romania at a panel of experts from European Union member states that discussed the first version of the "Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) on Health and Climate Change," organized by the European Commission through RTD Environment and Health.
